Name: | Bodhi Rook |
---|---|
Birthdate: | May 14 |
Location: | (states/regions/territories) |
They'd all made it to Scarif thanks to him, and they'd all made it off of that gods-forsaken beach because of him as well, not all of them, perhaps, but a good few. Cassian, Erso's daughter, the mystic and the mercenary and a handful of others. They'd been welcomed into the Rebellion with open arms, they needed all the hands they could get, and while Bodhi hadn't really signed up to fight in someone else's war, he knew now that he couldn't just stand by.
While Mon Mothma and the rest of the jokingly-titled Rebellion High Command wanted to get him back into a ship as soon as possible -because they needed good pilots- some understood that it wasn't something he'd be able to do again easily, not after hours in a nearly-disabled ship, taking turns at the comm to hail any Alliance vessel until they were all hoarse. After nearly dying more than once on Scarif, after losing most of an arm to an Imperial grenade, an injury that could have killed him, should have sent him into shock, would have, if he'd had time for it, but he didn't; he had a mission to finish.
In time Bodhi became a fixture in the hangar and the maintenance bays, he had an almost uncanny knack for knowing what was wrong just by the sound the ship made when it was coming in for a landing, the noise the engine made when it was powering down -or up- and could figure it out just from how the pilot said the ship was responding, or not.
In time, the Rebellion became the Resistance, and Bodhi stayed on, because he knew which side of a thing was right, and he'd decided at the beginning which side he was going to be on. He smiles more readily these days than he once did, or at least less nervously most of the time, the missing arm has been replaced more than once with bionics, though he has always preferred to just maintain it himself when he can, and for as long as he can.
[Bodhi Rook belongs to Lucasfilm and Disney, Alexander Siddig is the face in the icons, because as versatile as Riz Ahmed is, he really couldn't play a 50some-year-old version of himself.]
